FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do we go about hiring you to film our wedding?

I am so happy that you have thought of me for such an important day in your lives. I request a 50% retainer with a signed contract to secure a date. Inquiries do not guarantee that a date is held. Availability changes on a daily basis and is subject to change without notice. Final payment is due one weeks prior to the wedding.

Can we hire you for just a few hours?

I have a 7 hour minimum. However, I are happy to provide a customized quote for intimate weekday weddings requiring less coverage. Just let me know more about your wedding. Packages can not be split among multiple days.

Do you have travel fees?

I love to travel and charge minimal fees for coverage outside of Reno/Tahoe. Travel fees will be quoted per individual job.

How do you capture our vows?

I use tiny wireless microphones to capture audio for your film: one on the groom and the other on your officiate during your ceremony. My microphones record audio only and do not provide amplification of your ceremony for your friends and family to hear. Please contact your venue or entertainment to inquire about amplification equipment for your ceremony.

When should we start filming?

Video moves much slower then photography. My shots take time to set up and capture. I try to find creative ways to capture each of your details. The time before the start of your ceremony is when I get my most creative shots, so the more time I have, the better.

I like to capture your dress going on as well as the groom's last minute preparations. I would love to be with you at least an hour before you get dressed to ensure great content for your video.

Should we do a First Look?

I think doing a first look is awesome and believe videography captures that very well. It is one of my favorite things to film, and one of the most memorable moments from my own wedding.

What don’t you film?

I don’t think family photos is something that belongs in video, so I don’t film that. During that time I can find a million other things to shoot. I don’t film people eating either.

Can you start our video when the ceremony starts?

I require at least one hour prior to your ceremony as a start time in order to get detail shots of your ceremony site, venue, and guest arrival. I also need to mic your groom and officiate, as well as test audio to make sure it is perfect.

What about music for our video?

My songs are licensed for Internet use as to comply with copyright infringement laws. For more information on this policy, please feel free to inquire with any questions that you might have. I cover the cost of the license.

Do you own a drone?

I do own a drone! If time and weather permits, I can fly it as long as the venue has no rules against it. I do not charge extra for drone shots, nor do I guarantee I will use them. I do use my drone for establishing shots of the venue. I do not think that a wedding film should consist of mostly drone footage. I will not fly my drone during the wedding, especially not during the ceremony or over people.
